SUCCESS IS IN THE TRADE
Area’s largest independent barter organization announces
double digit growth early in 2009.
ORLANDO, Fla. (May 18, 2009) – Florida Barter, the largest independent organized barter association on the entire east coast, today reported a 33 percent increase in new clients for the first four months of 2009. An impressive 8 percent increase in trade volume, coupled with the dramatic increase in new clients, reflects a steady growth in the use of barter as an alternate business revenue source in today’s tough economic times. Florida Barter is on track to exceed $16 million in trade transactions in 2009.
“Barter has become an important business tool for many small to mid-sized businesses,” noted Scott Whitmer, president and CEO of Florida Barter. “Florida Barter has been serving the business needs of central Florida for nearly 28 years and, for the first time, we see organized barter transactions for services and goods becoming a regular budget line item for more and more small companies.”
Florida Barter serves three major central Florida business markets – Orlando, Tampa, and Daytona Beach. With more than 1600 active members, the company’s trade volume exploded to nearly $5 million from January 1st to April 30th, representing an average monthly trade volume of $1.2 million. A total of 23,484 transactions for the four month period averaged $211 per barter transaction.
